Gary Beattie (Senior Pastor)
In 7 words (ish): driven, biblical, forgiven, vocal, compassionate, impatient and following Jesus!
Pastor Gary loves the church and especially Bangor Elim. He believes that the church is the hope of the world and that there is nothing like it. He is passionate about working to make the church all it should be and making it a place where people can grow in God and share Jesus with the world. He is married to Sonya and they have two kids, Daniel and Joanna. He has a well documented addiction, whoops, sorry, attraction to coffee! He loves anything Apple, sport, especially football, and Westerns. If you can’t find him at the church, try Starbucks and if he’s not there he’s at home with his Macbook on his lap.
Davy Beckett (Senior Pastor)
In 7 words – faithful, passionate, humorous, caring, committed, risk-taker, real
Pastor Davy is committed to telling others about Jesus. He believes that everyone matters to God and is sold-out for people reaching their full potential in God. Davy is married to his ‘best friend’ Fiona and they have 3 sons; Pete, now married to Claire; Tim who is married to Toni; and Stephen. Davy now has a granddaughter and is a great Grandad! Davy is a sports nut – football, rugby, cricket, he could even get excited over a game of tiddlywinks! His other love is fishing and if he was allowed he would spend all day at the river, or walking his famous grand-dog Poppy.

Hugh Moore (Senior Associate Pastor)
In 7 words – passionate, practical, inquisitive, humorous, personable, disciple, dancer
Pastor Hugh is passionate about church and passionate about people… his love of scripture and desire to see people walk in Christ finds him serving in Bangor Elim as the Discipleship Pastor. Hugh is married to Ann and has one daughter Toni who is married to Tim. Pastor Hugh is passionate about preaching the message of the Bible, but also has the unique title of being the only disco dancer on Bangor Elim staff.

Dorothy McCready
Dorothy has been coming to Bangor Elim for 33 years. She began work as our cleaner 7 years ago and is known for her homemade German Biscuits and Apple Tarts. Dorothy doesn’t mince words and her love for God and His church is evident. In her own words, ‘It’s faith in a good God that gets me through life’. Dorothy is married with two grown-up children and one granddaughter, with another grandchild on the way.

Julie Stevenson
In 7 words – capable, compassionate, loyal, blessed, redeemed, cheerful, honest.
Julie is married to Jim and has two daughters Sophie and Emily. Julie has been a member of Bangor Elim for 8 years, and is the church/pastor’s secretary, a job she is new to this year. Julie feels very blessed and privileged to be serving God and her church family, and says it feels like ‘home from home’. She loves God and knows that He loves her unconditionally. He is her anchor and Julie loves discovering the plans God has for her through her relationship with Him.

Davy Rogan
Davy has worked for the church as General Maintenance Manager for two and a half years. His duties include general cleaning and routine maintenance of the building, room set-up for organizations and BCCC events, concerts and a host of day-to-day tasks as they arise. Davy has been married to Angela for 11 years and they have two young sons, Andrew and Jamie. Davy is also one of our Worship Leaders.

George McMurtry
George has been a member of Bangor Elim from 1970, and a member of the church leadership team from 1976. He has served as Sunday school leader, Youth leader; and became he became a full time staff member in 1994 as church administrator. George is now serving in the roll of pastoral care alongside the pastors, and has been the church finance officer for over 30 years. In 2000 George was miraculously healed after suffering a series of strokes and since then has been involved in a healing and prayer ministry. George is married to Betty and has two grown-up sons David and Jonathan, and a little granddaughter called Leah.

Trudy Hanna

follower!
Trudy has been a member of Bangor Elim for 13 years and has been part of the staff since 2006. As Pastoral Research Assistant, Trudy is involved in the weekly planning of the services, brainstorming and producing media products for the church and has input into other creative areas. She says it’s an honour to work for the local church and is blessed that she gets to share her passion and love for Jesus with her family at Bangor Elim. The church’s vision is ‘Full House’ and her desire is to see that vision continue to become a reality. Trudy has been married to Gary for 10 years and they have two young children, Jacob and Sofia.
