A people ...     who accept grace and dispense grace in equal measure

A place ...       where fellowship isn't fake

A people ...     who will help me carry my burdens

A place ...       where mistakes are rubbed out, not rubbed in

A people ...     who are not superficial or shallow

A place ...       where people worry that the world's going to hell

A people ...     who would lay down their life for me

A place ...       where faith, hope and love grow

A people ...     who will watch my back and not stab me in it

A place ...       of great joy and great rejoicing

A people ...     who don't point the finger, but lend a hand

A place ...       where when one human being touches another it is to express encouragement and affection

A people ...     who join with all of heaven to lift up the name that is above every name

A place ...       where the only words spoken are words that build and help and encourage

A people ...     who accept me for who I am, warts and all, and see me as God's masterpiece in progress

A place ...       where exuberant generosity is the norm

A people ...     who not only share the same space, but the same heart

A place ...       where the impossible is seen as merely difficult

A people ...     who always cheer and never heckle

A place ...       where no one is hungry - for food, for friendship or for forgiveness

A people ...     who have all things common but are anything but

A place ...       where everyone is useful and fulfilled

A people ...     who secretly whisper compliments behind your back and to your face

A place ...       full of servant hearts and Jesus minds

A people ...     who always give the benefit of the doubt

A place ...       where others always come first

A people ...     who think the best of you, even when they know the worst of you

A place ...       where the complaints box is full of compliments

A people ...     who rush to help those who fall, instead of saying they saw it coming

A place ...       where the outcasts are accepted and the unlovable lavished with love

A people ...     who cheer others' success and joy and mourn others' failure and pain

A place ...       where heaven touches earth, and earth touches earth, and earth touches heaven

A people ...     who not only hear the Word, but live it

A place ...       to belong

A people ...     who are known by all for their love for Jesus and for each other

A place ...       that turns the world right side up

A people ...     who proclaim the message and demonstrate the power of the cross

A place ...       where disagreements are settled with grace and kindness

A people ...     who help me on my journey to be transformed into the image of Jesus

A place ...       where I am fed and nourished and cared for

A people ...     who will share the ups and downs, the highs and lows of life with me

A place ...       where what unites us more than outweighs what divides us

A people ...     who live all this in the place and outside the place

A place ...       where Jesus is the centre and God the most glorious inhabitant

A people ...     who take great risks and leaps of faith.

A place ...       where rejection and loneliness are banished

A people ...     with the courage to stand up and stand out, in spite of the cost

A place ...       of hope and healing and wholeness

A people ...     who love extravagantly - love God, love each other, love the world

 

A people fit for the kingdom and a place fit for the King
